Hi! I’m Carmen and despite having a degree in finance and working in the industry, prior to 2016, my personal finances were a hot mess. In 2016, I started Make Real Cents as a way to document my journey towards becoming debt free. In less than 18 months of starting my journey and this blog, I was able to crush over $38k in debt and in September of 2018 I will have paid off approx. $57,000 of debt. I’m on a mission to teach you the do’s and don’ts of personal finance with a little humor along the way.
